You know that arguments from iatrogenic harm are sufficient to keep all who can be reasoned with from refraining.

But its self esteem and the willingness to engage in gedankenexperimente which interfere with the all important effort to get newspaper mentions for your clipping file.

I'm willing to forego the short-term "gain" of getting favorable press as a Slavering Monster who knows that he's sick and wants help with the shackles. I'd rather continually point out that all the ethics by which the rights of man progressed point to an end to treating children as property, and to treating any sexual orientation as having a propensity to rape.

I can think of no group that gained anything by appealing to the prejudices against them. Press clippings maybe, but no real gain. And I'd rather focus on preventing harm to girls and girllovers than to think that my PR issues matter more.
