I have tricks I use to prevent Google's control. Javascript (on and off) and Adblock Plus, to name a couple. I also have a batch file (.bat) that, once I reach the desktop (right click the task bar for "show the desktop") I click on the "Chrome killer" .bat file. That file contains the quickie:
taskkill /F /IM chrome.exe The cmd screen comes up, finds all tasks of chrome and abruptly terminates them. Every now and then some website gives the "locked" menu popup "leave this page?" or some such. Then, I show the desktop and kill everything chrome is doing. There are other things to keep controls at my keyboard rather than what Google wants for me. |
