Bit of a rant

I've been watching House M. D. lately. On this one episode, House is talking about the possibility of a nine year old patient having been molested because she successfully manipulated one of the other doctors into kissing her by going "I'm 9 and terminal and I've never kissed a boy." His argument is that some molestation victims manipulate adults around them to get more molestation. Which just... the logic completely boggles my mind. His argument basically boils down to "some rape victims manipulate people who haven't already raped them into also raping them." How does that make any damned sense?

I'd call it victim blaming but it doesn't really fit that, and anyway there's a far more obvious explanation that they plainly are trying to deny because of the commonly accepted belief that all children are completely innocent and sexless. Obviously, the real victims of rape are going to do everything they can to avoid being raped again; even if they can't stop current rapists from raping them again, they're not going to invite other people to jump on the bandwagon! Whereas the people who actually enjoy sex and weren't raped are going to seek it out and try their hardest to get more. If the girl was an adult, her desire to kiss somebody wouldn't leaf any of them to think she was a rape victim! They'd just assume she was horny. But because she's a child and wants to be kissed, that must mean she's a rape victim because kids can't be horny? That makes no sense at all! Even if she wanted to be fucked, especially if she was terminal (she is; cancer), that still wouldn't mean she's a rape victim! I should know, I had sex when I was around her age, and I liked it! I wasn't a victim! It wasn't with an adult, but legally speaking it would still have been considered rape because we were both underage, and that is absolutely fucking stupid!

Honestly, I think this is why they call it molestation and not rape. Because on some level, they know it isn't always rape, but because separating the genuine rape cases from those with mutual consent is too difficult and sticky a situation, and because the politicians and courts are lazy and society is up its own ass about a lot of dumb shit, they just slap an age minimum on the law and call everything going on before that age minimum molestation and therefore equivalent to rape! And then people see kids sexting each other and arrest them for making child pornography of themselves! "Oh you're somehow sexually exploiting yourself, young woman, so now we're going to ruin your whole life because we're a bunch of fucking lazy retards! And we're going to do the same to the person you sent the picture to as well because fuck you, and we're retards."

God damn, the twisting of logic some people will come up with to deny the obvious answer they don't want to acknowledge just completely baffles and infuriates me.

(So far in this episode,I don't know if she was molested or not. Doesn't really matter. I just had to vent and this was the only place to do so safely.)
