You say that a pedophile who gets caught isn't a pedophile because he/she did harm to children. From my experience in prison/treatment, there are many convicted pedophiles who never meant any harm towards their partners when they were having sex with them, and there was no malice or evil whatsoever. RARELY would we get the typical "monster" who deliberately raped and battered children, and they were sociopaths. Nonetheless, the law declares their partners to be "victims" whether it was consensual or not, thus putting the brand of "monster" on them.
I remember in the sessions when every time somebody said something along the lines of, "I never meant to hurt her at all," or "She wanted it just as much as I did," he would get BLASTED. Those therapists would almost yell at him with, "NO! You did hurt her because she was innocent and only followed along because you manipulated her." Such cognitive and emotional assaults compel us convicted pedophiles to accept ourselves as predators, and further drive a wedge between the law-abiding pedophiles and the criminals in that those who haven't broken the law are considered better than those who have. If the laws concerning AOC were nonexistent, everybody on this board would probably be having Saturdays In The Park (love that song) with an child friend this weekend, thus the rifts between pedophile/predator wouldn't be an issue because I know most pedophiles are not raving animals. Although I don't have half the intellectual capacity to hang with you on such discussions (even though I have a BA degree with a 3.7 GPA), I honestly think you should reconsider that position. |
