Hi Trucker
Sorry, we have a culture clash, we Brits use this kind of stuff quite a bit, I was being ironic, apple would have understood it as he too is a Brit. We often say the opposite of what we mean (in short bursts that is!). I was being mildly sarcastic here in that there seems to be a divide - true pedophiles supposedly by their nature (the theory) do not ever harm a child. But if they actually ever enter the justice system for anything they might justifiably or unjustifiably be prosecuted for then they are likely to be deemed sex-offenders by the pedophile community. (the practice). What I like to call the Quantum Pedophilia effect. Occasionally people like Gary Glitter, who arguably straddles both camps, is not seen as a sex-offender by some but most who enter the system as sex-offenders are likely to be tarnished with the 'abusive' label rather then the 'child-loving pedophile' label and treated accordingly. The 'image' of pedophilia as a pure love towards children must be maintained at all costs, here at GC at least. I can sympathise with what you might have endured concerning your experiences of prison/treatment, as although I have never been in prison, I have been through a SOTP and have met others on the programme who had been in prison for their offences. My experiences would have been very different from yours in that I had already made my mind up that my pedophile orientation was wrong and I was more a participant/observer of the process than being changed by it. I did gain quite a lot from the programme but most of this was not related to pedophilia. I did make many friends. Moth |
