If you do any reading on me, you will find I have in the past used the word pedophile interchangably with child molester. I admit, as I have in the past, that was a mistake on my part. Pedophiles are not automatically child molester, nor are child molesters automatically pedophiles. Generally, the pedophiles I have spoke with have no intention of ever harming a child. I will have to admit there have been a few (one in particular) that make my skin crawl, but that is where my next point comes in.

Here is the part you are gonna kill me on. I believe in this very community, you probaly have wolves in sheep clothing. I believe that some child molesters will pretend to be pedophiles in order to earn the trust of some parents. This is my fear anyway. I mean no disrespect, honestly, but there is always someone willing to hide who they really are in order to obtain what they really want.

I want to try to understand the difference more then anything else. So I personally know who I can and cannot trust my children to. While CAT may not teach me that difference, I have already learned a great deal and we have only had it open a few days now.

I take total responsiblity for who I have chosen as moderators. I have the final veto, it is after all, my board. While I invite others to join me. The blame if this fails, is all on me. The moderators I have chosen from "our" side are Magnolia (because well she is my coblogger) and at heart she is a good woman. She may be the hardest of the bunch to convince you are out to do no harm btw. But she is fair (most of the time) and she means well all of the time. Lilo, I have already explained my thinking on her. Twilight_Sky I picked simply because of his "Myth" post. He seems resonable. Todd was picked by Lilo. I don't know Todd well, but from what I have heard, he will be fair as well.

If any of these people step out of line (I doubt they will) I will personally handle it. I won't tolerate this turning into some kind of battle of wills. I won't tolerate trolling or derogetory commenting of any kind. We are adults, I figure most of us know how to treat other people. And most that were (directly by email or comments on their blogs) invited so far have been people I feel can discuss this without getting out of hand. I don't know what the future brings, who will join next and if they will act responsibly. But I can assure you if they don't, they won't remain in the forum for long.

I don't blame you all one bit for wanting some assurance. I hope I have managed to give you that. I have seen several of you over there already, thank you for coming and giving this a chance. I hope to see more of you come.

One thing to remember and I ask your forgiveness on this part. We are still in a sort of transition phase. I am making new sections as we need them, and if you have suggestion feel free to PM me with those. I have moved some posts to different sections and for now we are keeping a few of the sections for registered members only. This is being done mostly at this point to keep the riff-raff out. In the future we may open those boards for the general public to see, but that will come in time when all the mods and the current members have talked more about it more.
