I thank you for your support in allowing me to prove myself and my ideas.

Then I take this as your public agreement to my required agreement from you that "paedophiles as a people are not child molesters, they are not molesters that haven't found victims yet, and are not inclined to abuse anyone simply because of their orientation."? If this is, indeed, your public agreement to that requirement, then yes, you have my support in giving you the chance to prove yourself.

Note: I'm not trying to be mean or overly harsh here, but you and yours have a track record with us that is not pleasant, and I reserve the right to gain a certain degree of up-front agreement on stance before I agree to giving you any bit of line with which to play. While you yourself may not have said anything blatantly pillory-worthy (I haven't gone out of my way to look, either), your compatriots that you have chosen to include do not share that benefit. As you are taking responsibility for their actions by including them in admin and moderator status, I need to be very clear on where you stand on your views of us before agreeing to engage in discussion.

This is a negotiations of sort, and we deserve and reserve the right to be viewed as equal if we are going to agree to this open discussion with you. We are infinitely able to see your side of things, especially those among us who are parents, but your side are generally not so willing or able to be open minded and even see things from the other side. Would I like to come to some sort of understanding and (likely tentative) agreement on the issues and situation? Absolutely. I won't, however, step blindly into what could be a trap.

You started this endeavor by raising yourself above the level of the rest of your people, and I respect that. I do hope that you understand, however, that I tend to view the situation much as the samurai of old did. You bow to your opponent without taking your eyes off of them, and you never extend your arm in greeting or invitation, for the opponent is likely to chop it off. Your side have been particularly venemous and your sudden rise above the rest to a seeming level of openness spawns immediate skepticism which needs to be satisfied. You extend your hand in invitation, but I don't return the jesture, as I don't wish to pull back a stub. This discussion in this thread I see as the opportunity to prove that we won't pull back a stub if we accept your invitation.

As for the bit of levity... (the farm animals thing was just to diffuse my own anger, I was getting a little worked up there and needed to humble myself back down) It's a good thing that you added this, or the zooerotic just might start taking issue with you, too. ^_~
