GirlChat #737572
I finally found someone who knows some Estonian, but they cautioned it cannot be perfectly translated. Rarely one to fall for all those little girl singers that many seem to do, but I also discovered (three or four years late to the party, as usual) that I am *madly* in love with the girl singer, Krislin Sallo. :)
She's not only beautiful with a singing voice like a girl lover's siren.. she's also very feminine and ladylike, not to mention her bright positivity and soft confidence. How sad to know my sudden dream of living on a wheat farm with her somewhere in the northern Baltic woodlands while she and her friends sing and dance for me in holding hands in flowery sundresses is not a very likely future reality:/ Oh, well. Still a very uplifting song to me in a time when many of us are extremely thankful to have them. After researching the country's not so distant and often tragic past, the lyrics seem to represent something like the happiness of the human spirit refusing to be caged or locked down. For some reason, that speaks to me. Many thanks for the time given by my industrious interpreter of a difficult language. I was told the lyrics rhyme in the original language. Laskem Laulda A bird cannot be caged when it wants to fly Feet cannot be held fixed when they want to dance Mouths must not be locked, songs must sound Millions of dreams must not be banned Let us sing when the mind is glad Let us dance, the soul leaps inside Feeling how the melody inside me, turning, turning, takes off Laughter cannot be held when a friend tickles me Nor bird“s bill silenced when tweeting on a branch Trees“ leaves move here and there in their rhythm Children cannot be stopped when they swing up and down Let us sing when the mind is glad Let us dance, the soul leaps inside Feeling how the melody inside me, only turning, turning, takes off So let us sing when the mind is glad Let us dance, the soul leaps inside Feeling how the melody inside me, only turning, turning, takes off only turning, turning, takes off. ..*Longing sigh*.. :) ![]() |
