Pedophiles, by actual definition do not hurt children. Otherwise they are not a pedophile, but a child abuser.

Of course its important to get society to recognise the difference, however alienating the sexual element from a sexual orientation makes far less sense. It is literally pandering to the existing scruples that society has.

I wont deny that after eduma-cating myself on Virpeds work, some aspects are productive. Such as differentiating pedo & abuser by their definitions. However, it still remains only part of the issue.
It's like saying it is not true that homosexuals go out & gang-rape heteros, but they still shouldnt have sex with eachother.

Society still rides on the assumption that chilren are incapable of thinking for themselves without an adult telling them how it is. And that is really what it boils down to. Eliminate an adults compelling urge to mould them in their own image, and decent chunk of the issue is addressed.
