Emancipation should only be investigated if its not only in the childs best interests but also the family unit. (IMHO)


I would only support the attempt if there was no other choice, such a decision can permanently damage the family dynamic, cause a lot of interpersonal problems.. definetly not in their own best interests..


A lot of kids have problems that can be sorted out. If someone comes along, suggests emancipation, says they can run away with them, problem resolution takes a back seat.. must be careful what is suggested to young minds..

Oh well.. my 2 bits.
