I do not share that belief. I happen to think it's about 50-50. Of course, again, none of us have any way of knowing.

I don't think people are saying that. I think there is just a miscommunication there. The fact is that people should not just violate a law because they feel it is unjust. Now, in regards to "stat rape" laws with people having consentual sex with a "minor"...I would still feel bad for someone who had their whole life ruined for having a consentual experience, even if I personally think they should not have done it.

I have no pity for someone who molests and abuses a child...but it is simply not logical to "assume" that any sexual contact with someone under 18 is abuse.

I guess some people do make those kinds of assumptions. It is just not so cut and dry. I think probably 50% of the relationships are VERY consentual and about 50% are not. I also think that most likely about half of the sexual activity with minors is done by "pedophiles" - that is someone who finds children sexually attractive.

Until we get the acme mind-reading device in the mail, we'll never REALLY know for sure...and anyone who claims they know the "stat" for a fact is full of it.
