I see a slight difference.

There's the churches the evoke anger.

And there's the churches that evoke eye rolls.

In one case, they are always losing people while sticking to dusty old traditions.

In the other case, they tend to fill the place, via shallow feel-good trappings like modern music and games, and affirm anything and everything people identify with in the moment of today.

One of these is something I feel a need to challenge seriously.

The other is merely something that looks like a fleeting cult, inevitably ended by either accusations of sexual misconduct, money laundering, or simply the rise of the next big emotional religious thing the next town over.

I prefer the challenge to the eye roll.
