Well, yanno... I've been skeptical about the whole "God" thing since I was about 11 or 12, but I do know the gay stuff was always frowned upon in their book. And so THAT tells me that if they are advertising themselves with pride flags, then it points to latching on to whatever happens to be a thing in the current passing times, and I have trouble with representatives of "eternal truths" sinking to that sort of advertising, because it looks desperate at best, misguided at worst. The only thing worse than expressing a contested belief is trying to sugarcoat, soften it, or water it down in shame. Or schismatic progressions to the point where the religious sect doesn't even look anything like what it owes its roots to anymore, but is just running along behind the whims of whatever the current fads are.
The fact that they are allowing western secular society lead them by the ecclesiastical nose ring says it probably doesn't bode well for people of *our* social status, as that same secular society that this particular church is trying to cozy up to has calculated to leave us behind, not to mention appropriated our colors for the trans people in their famous flag of pride. Bah! Phooey. More power to you, hiero, should you decide to go in and declare your attraction to kids, and I hope they don't call the police on you. I'd love to hear how it goes. |
