I suppose I was naive to not know this, but in many parts of Europe, home-schooling is actually illegal. I only became aware of this recently.

I'm sure you must know, home schooling is no partisan issue. It's practiced by people of both left and right political views, who are sometimes religious and sometimes not.

Are you in support of laws that prevent home schooling? You've already labeled them zealots as a group, so I was just curious how far you'd be willing to impose your beliefs on these parents.
