It wasn't the worst in the U.S.

Comparing deaths per capita which is the only reasonable way to compare a country of over 300 million to a country of say a million. The U.S. is not the leader in deaths. It's behind countries like the U.K., Belgium, and Italy. And Pretty much even with many other European countries. But, of course media around the world including in the United States has a narrative that the U.S. is pretty much a third world country masquerading as a first world country.
