From a mental health stance self acceptance needs to be complete. Work with other minorities and orientations demonstrate that there are no half-measures in rejecting self-loathing. And that allowing the seeds of shame to fester only compromises health.

Do you have references supporting that view?

I'm curious as to how you'd relate this to minorities such as:

Deaf
Blind
Physically challenged
Mentally challenged
Elderly

'Allowing seeds of shame to fester compromises health' is so freaking self evident to me, I can't believe you ask for references.

But in this case, I don't mind you conflating physical 'different-abilities' with sexual minorities. Everyone's health depends on self-acceptance! I am very close to someone with an unusual and little known genetic 'condition'. This person has not yet found self-acceptance and suffers from it. I have attended many gatherings where the worlds top scientists and research/medical doctors speak on what is currently known about this 'condition'. Above all treatments thus far applied, they ALL agree that self-acceptance is paramount to their overall mental AND physical health.

To be so closely aligned to the psychological professions as you have claimed, I am surprised at your lack of knowledge about the importance of these fundamental health requirements.
