Personally, I am opposed to the death penalty for crimes other than extreme terrorist activity, espionage which endangers national security and the worst of the drug traffickers, who blight the lives of more people than any rapist ever has.

That said, I would not be against the introduction of corporal punishment for rape. A sound birching would be a satisfactory element of punishmnent and also help act as a deterrent.

I also think that rape by a relative should be treated somewhat differently from stranger rape, in an attempt to lessen the trauma already suffered by the family. How? I don't know.
