This kind of vindictive attitude does not help things. First of all, the people you should be angry with Shur are the people who create the child porn and put it out there. Personally, I do not like CP, and I have never looked at it...it does not interest me.
I do not think looking at a picture should get someone thrown in jail. Are they harming any little girls? Did they create the pics? If they simply found them somewhere FOR FREE, then they had nothing to do with the making and uploading of those pics, and they do NOT deserve to be put in jail for just looking at pics. So, you want to know WHY looking at pics should be legal? The slippery slope, which is already happening. Pics of kids having sex is CP, and right now it gets people jail time...but then naked pics were classified as CP. So, Shur, we now have people who go to jail for NON-sexual pics of lgs naked. Next, we have people who go to jail for NON-Nude pics of lgs. They are pedophiles, the pics arouse them and so they must go to jail for those pics. Do you see the problem? ANY pic in the hands of a pedophile can be called CP in a court of law. When does this end? Pics of murder victims are not illegal. Pics of people being robbed or mugged are not illegal. A picture is nothing more than a collection of pixels...and if our countries claim we have RIGHTS, then looking at pics in the privacy of your own home cannot be illegal. No, they have NO right to lock people up for just looking. Here's my disclaimer...if someone PAYS for CP, then you can suggest that they are creating a MARKET for CP, and that they are indirectly responsible for having more CP made. THOSE people should have to be punished...but again, YEARS and years in jail is TOO harsh for looking at pics. Raping girls...yes. Making CP...yes. Looking at pics...NO. Plain and simple. Inf. |
