"are Brits raised generally to be nasty to one another?" - you claim in the very first line that you arent talking about all Brits, yet in that question you are. Make your mind up will you? But to answer you theres no more "assholes" here in Britain than there are in the US, Canada, Mexico, China or anywhere else in the world you want to go to. And as far as your popular TV shows are concerned first off they began in the UK first complete with insulting judge/member and do you honestly think that if EVERYONE on the show is being nice that half as many people would watch it?
