Those laws are about fraud, not about political speech.

This is clearly a matter of free speech, and the State of Connecticut has now come out in favor of censorship. Red state, blue state - no difference. The people of the United States are showing their total indifference to the principles of liberty that the USA was supposedly founded on.

Of course, given the current situation, I'm not going to ask you to martyr yourself by trying to fight them, because it's doubtful the courts will favor free speech in the current climate - but that doesn't change the fact that this is clearly illegal on the parts of StC and the State of Connecticut.
