I never fail to be horrified when I read of your surreal experience in the courts. I'm fairly sure that if it had been in the UK an appeal would have had you exonerated. Did you appeal? Is there a higher court that you could have referred the case to?
It seems to me that you were prosecuted without any direct evidence linking the picture to you, it was all circumstancial.
