A GM and an example of normal people and mad rules

A bit of a funny but nice girl moment.

So I was with my eldest daughter at her friends party. I was mostly talking to the other parents, sneaking bits of food but also taking time out to play with some of the girls.

Anyway after a while I was sitting down for a rest when one of her very nicest friends came across and sat next to me. We were chatting when she said she was cold so snuggled up to me, untucked my shirt and put her hand under my shirt to warm it on my belly and chest. It felt very good but I was about to tell her to stop when her mom who I know well came across smiling and said "sorry, if she's freezing you then just tell her to stop" to which I answered "that's OK, I don't mind" to which she said "thanks, she's been freezing me for the past few minutes".

It was perfectly innocent although enjoyable.

It's funny because earlier at the same party quite a few of the parents were told off by the building manager where the party was for taking photo's of their own children. So picture the scene, it's a childs party at a venue that caters for childrens activity parties. All the children are encouraged to do sporty challenges. The children are having loads of fun and as they achieve goals they're so proud and shout to their parents "I did it, did you see that?". So some of the parents want to capture this special memorable occasion and so start to take pictures of their children.

Then a manager comes stomping across and tells all the parents "sorry, no photo's, not unless you have filled in form blah in advance and got the signatures of all the other parents giving consent." All the parents were far from impressed, asking why couldn't they capture a special moment. All the parents said they were fine with it, it's just a party but they wouldn't budge so in the end even the child who's party it was couldn't have any photo's to remember the event with. So here we have society upsetting the children at the party and ruining what should be a fun and memorable event.

In contrast the parents were normal people and the girls mom was happy for me to warm her daughter. She knows me and that I'm a good person and she can see I'm not trying to lure her daughter off to my dungeon to be molested. We're just bonding and having fun. In fact her mom asked about her daughter coming for a sleepover some time within a few weeks, she has a sense of proportion and doesn't live in a field of fear.
