I know many places have important reasons to ban photographs. Galleries, companies where new products are being developed, banks etc but this was nothing like that.

It's a hall with a plain table, chairs and disposable plates and napkins from the local shop. I doubt anyone is casing the joint with an eye to do a burglary to order for some paper plates or a rickety old wooden chair.

The sole reason was like most public places there's paranoia that it's pictures to perv over so we'll just blanket ban everyone. I appreciate they're probably just protecting themselves legally but it's sad that the world has come to that.

So when our children are all grown up we can say "sorry we didn't take any pictures or video of your birthday parties, trips to the park or swimming pools or trips anywhere really. We did go places but we couldn't take pictures in case we were were perverts wanting to do nasty things.

Just seems warped to me that the world is like that. I mean I don't see how saying you can't take a picture of your own daughter is any protection anyway because, well, she's your daughter and lives in your house. I'm guessing perverts all sneak off to the most public places they can find to take dirty pictures.
