"She found that adults who had sexual encounters as children with adults where they didn't feel forced wound up feeling traumatized and ashamed relatively later in life, when the stigma hit them like a ton of bricks. Growing up they were fine with it and even happy about it."

To be fair, Clancy grounds the harm in processing the experience as a betrayal without suggesting that this is due to iatrogenic stigma. In her treatment of it as an inevitable outcome she seems to suggest that growing up will always provide such a perspective. Though I think that there are too many testimonials to the contrary to suggest that comprehending adult sexuality automatically means interpreting childhood sexual interactions with adults as exploitive.

In part its a necessary read because she isn't siding with us, and can still see the BS and the harm deriving from The Narrative.

Truths triangulate from multiple sources.
