"Truths triangulate from multiple sources."
Thank you for a bumper-sticker-sized summary of something that has been on my mind often lately. I've been noticing that while the conclusions being reached by "intersectional feminism" folks aren't always the same ones as by pro-choice Pedos here, the reasoning behind those conclusions -- especially the arguments for what constitutes consent, what "choice" is, the societal factors involved... end up sounding very much like the ones I witness here. Not to say that any of these people I've encountered are at all supportive of allowing all girls and women that choice -- far from it, since those I know are staunchly against most people under AoC choosing to be sexual -- but at least I have some hope that some minds are still open enough to recognize that the same arguments they're already using to support their positions apply equally to other positions they don't currently support. (I also find a lot of overlap in what articles and videos I see linked from here and which ones I see shared around the other circles I frequent... it wasn't until I saw the "First Moon Party" commercial linked here that I finally got around to figuring out what everyone else had been discussing, for example!) |
