IRC?

This would solve many of the problems in trying to get multiple website admins to agree on everything. It also wouldn't have to be associated with any one site. IRC is old-school but might be an easy solution, and it could be advertised on various CL websites.
I assume anyone using it would be masking their IP address, but maybe there are other solutions with built-in security, like chat software that uses Tor.
