Lately I marvel at how publicly funded PBS in the US has given up all vestiges of apolitical content, and now just nakedly works tirelessly to alienate and anger various groups, based on race, gender, or whatever division they can possibly agitate, or whatever old historical wound they can possibly try to re-open. Progress in terms of inclusivity is no longer to be admitted. This is incredibly dishonest.
I am a former fan of outlets like this. Something happened roundabout 2015, when gears were shifted, many people were alienated, and things generally started feeling less honest and more weaponized. The loss of honesty in content presentation is what eventually drove me away. They started working to manipulate minds rather than enlighten them, was how I experienced it. So I drifted away. I doubt I was the only one. Oh, I'll still watch a Rick Steves episode and search for the brief pretty little Euro-girl shot, or watch the Antiques Roadshow occasionally, but most of the content is overly-pleading politicized garbage now. Sad, really. I was one of the original Sesame Street fans. Now my taxes are funding their strategy of national division. Wait, what was the original topic? Anyway, liked your post. |
