I'd imagine 75% of those incarcerated (for pedo stuff or anything else, for that matter), would not be living that existence if they had the awareness or ability to stop for a moment and consider the current situation, whatever it is.
As for our kind, in my days of risking meeting others, there were those who had it, those who really did not, and those who seemed to actually be taken over by some invisible force in the presence of a child. I know I don't discover anything new when I discover it for myself, but I presume this same lack of impulse control extends to the child who sees an opportunity to steal a dollar or a candy bar, or a bicycle, all the way up to the grownup who sees a woman walking alone at night. They are not the only people who do such things, but I suspect there are many who have no self-control feature in their brain, whatever the cause, and by the simple fact that they don't plan, they also tend to get caught rather quickly, and likely make up a large portion of the prison population as well. Do I have sympathy for any of them? I have felt bad for at least one former poster here. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but he was clearly struggling with serious mental issues that not only got him incarcerated more than once, but eventually contributed to his own passing. In many cases however, I feel their being taken out of general society is probably best for both themselves and everyone else. Complete lack of impulse control where girl love is concerned... well it's just not a good mix in my personal opinion. ![]() |
