...deserted the army and fled to the woods during the WWII, because they did not want to fight. I am not a military-minded person. My father could endure the war only a couple of years and then had his first schizophrenic episode and was given a military discharge. I learned only a few years ago that he served only two and a half years or so.

Maybe I leave this board for a week or so and come back later when the situation is cool.
