My mom's birthplace! She was born near Moika river, across Kunstkamera. She was rescued by her "aunty" in late 1944 right after the siege was over. She was the only survivor.
White nights are most beautiful. Petergoff, Hermitage, Petr and Paul Cathedral are just a few awe-inspiring places to visit. It is often called Venice of the north. The best memories of my childhood. I could go on and on, but only those who'd lived in Leningrad would understand! Moscow is overrated. Still a beautiful city. The famous Red Square is OK like most places within Sadovoe Koltzo. I admire the baroque architecture and history of great Russia! |
