but I don't think he was Satan either.
To be honest, this was, as a teenager who recently - within a couple of years or so - realized my attraction, the first anything I read on pedophilia besides internet forums, fiction or not. It made a big impression on me, even though later on I did realize Humbert's selfishness and pathology.
Don't think she was ever raped though.
