I had never thought of it that way, but you're right. I have posted this contrast several times here, before. The approximate dates and locations of what I am about to write are the same, adjudicated by the same judge who sentenced three people on the same day.

I was charged (among other sexual ministrations to Her) with two counts of oral sex with my little lover. I kissed Her. I was sentenced between 30 and 40 years in prison for it. However, each count of cunnilingus carried a life sentence. I was lucky.

A young man was drunk, crashed his car into, and killed a woman. He was sentenced to 5 years.

An old man fetched his shotgun, pointed it at his wife, fired but hit his brother-in-law sitting next to her, and killed him. He was sentenced to 5 years.

The violent death of a human being is not as bad as a kiss upon a little girl.
