My advice is to to tell them that you'll see a psychiatrist or psychologist of your choosing. Jail/Prison/Etc.. won't help you. Tell them, if it is a psychological problem and they want to take care of you then they can pay to have you see a psychologist once a week.

It is better than the pigs, I mean police, getting involved.
