Of course the emotional part of me would love to see this guy put to death for hurting a little girl, but this is a slippery slope. Once we allow capital punishment to be applied to non-homicide crimes, its only a matter of time before we start sentencing people to death for non-rape sexual offenses, and the hysteria will allow society to look the other way.
