The result of societal programming perhaps, but the trauma still exists none the less. You see, in a perfect world it wouldn't be considered humiliating and her classmates wouldn't tease her endlessly for the rest of her school career either. I know when I peed my pants on the playground in the first grade, my classmates never let me forget it, even up until highschool. So magnify that about ten times by forcing someone to do a very private act in front of the world. Things are the way they are, we are programed how we are, saying "should have, could have, would have" won't change the situation at hand. That being that there is a very upset little girl who is going to be facing a lot of bullying in the near future.
