being outed as a pedophile, being held accountable for assumed moral failings, wondering if those failings are in fact real, wondering if one does actually pose a risk to children, particularly children one loves, being the focus of negative projections from friends, family and strangers...

...it takes a strong person to maintain a sense of self under those conditions. if everybody tells you you are sick, even people whose intelligence and values you respect, how can you deny it?

it also takes a strong person not to counter shame with pride, and assume one is always right & everyone else is wrong. you really have to be selfless. desire and pleasure are unhealthy priorities for anybody, but pedophilia makes them fraught with dangers.

maybe that is what Moth is trying to say. i'm a buddhist. i have learned a lot about life thru dealing w/ my sexuality. it doesn't pay to be too analytic, but it is important to be self aware and self disciplined..
