Welcome

Although I am an atheist/agnostic, I welcome the involvement of the religious community in this discussion. Although personal experiences have left me no desire to be involved with organized religion, I understand that many people find such activities meaningful and helpful in their lives. I also understand that not all religious people are fanatics, and that even fanatics are often kind and intelligent people who happen to have some blind spots.

I recognize that we can not always have everything we want or need, at least not all at once. While I would like to see the religious community acknowledge that adult-child romance and even mutually desired sexual relationships can be a good thing, I would only demand two things at present:

(1) The recognition that pedophiles are fully human and that pedophilia is not a disease or an affliction, but rather one variety of love for children.

(2) That children are sexual beings and that their sexuality should not be repressed, at least not beyond the necessities of public propriety.

Whether you wish to combine the efforts is up to you.
