We have rules that we are required to follow as well. And the rule has ALWAYS been "shoot first, discuss later." If we decide that the memo should've remained in your post, we can always just put it back. Our rule has always been that when in doubt, make the edit and THEN discuss it with other mods. And that is precisely what I did. Personally, I would be in favor of putting the memo back in, but it requires more than my authority alone to simply decide to forego the privacy rule.
