What is a family, if not supposedly a tightknit unit where each member looks out for and cares for the other more than, or at least just as much as themself?

A family is in essence, a single entity when properly formed, with each constituent part filling a gap and helping to pull the load.

The family should be there for times like this, for times when you need someone else to carry your load.

Your family seems to have none of this, and therefore, any respect you feel you owe them, dont.
