I feel ya, Minstrel

It is pretty damned ignorant when a profession can write a manual blaming the fear of being rejected by their own family and friends, or the fear of being killed or imprisoned, as a primary symptom of the attraction itself. I think we all could have told them that, and have been for many years. However, once something has a name, it is easier to recognize it, identify it, and test to see if it has any validity. A few researchers have recognized it, but none has pushed to change that annoying little part of the DSM which blames the negative effects of secrecy and rejection on us.
