Record Your Sessions...

Some years ago when I was involved with a therapist, (non pedo related) he used to tape record our sessions and at the end of each session he would give me a copy of the recording to take with me and keep. He keeping one as well.

I found this invaluable in that it allowed me to listen to our interchange over and over again while in various emotional states and gain new insights missed the first time around.

Also it provided me with a record of all of our transactions thereby placing all of my comments within a specific context.

Personally I would be very reluctant to see a therapist who would not allow me to record our sessions.

On the other hand i suppose that given the "sensitive nature" of your current situation who might want to consider recording your sessions "covertly" without the therapists knowledge.
