...I'm in no way advocating that we DO NOTHING. What I am saying is that flagrantly breaking the law is NOT the way to accomplish anything other than getting ourselves tossed in jail, our YF's dragged into "therapy," more stringent laws passed against us AND youths, and more negative media press aimed at us. That's not accomplishing anything other than provoking the establishment and status quo into finding "excuses" to tighten the chains around us. I explained this in my post, yet you seemed to have missed all of that. Do you truly want to put yourself in the position of agent provacateur?
Contrary to what you claimed, which is that I am making up excuses to do nothing, I made it clear that we should make plans to engage in open agitation and to stringently support the youth liberation movement once the progressive backlash that I'm predicting within the next few years occurs in full force, and these are two things that we need to do in concert. This is how the bulk of civil rights for other minority groups was won in the past, and though I do not break the laws to make a point (being in prison as a "sex offender" for several years is not my idea of productive civil disobedience), I am "out" as a hebephile in RL, which is a strong legal act of civil disobedience bar none in today's political climate, and I am openly active in the youth liberation movement as well as other liberating political movements, the former since long before I realized that I was a hebe. I am also working hard to get other progressive political parties to accept youth liberation as part of their platform, not an easy task, mind you. So, I was hardly advocating doing NOTHING, and if you re-read my post, that should become more clear. And since when did you get bitten by the activist bug anyway?? I hope that HPNY reads your post and berates you for bullying me!! (j/k!!) Your friend, --Dissident |
