After reading these excerpts I will stand by my original conclusion. Sarah Goode appears to be afraid to criticize any type of group or policy who claims to be "protecting the children." She praises the entrapment procedures of PJ in chat rooms and applauds them because they ended up with the conviction of one man who seems to have been a real rapist. Of course, for all we know, the faux 'teen' who PJ was posing as may have encouraged him to bring those handcuffs and the man may only have been guilty of statuatory rape rather than real rape. But the ends do not justify the means. Entrapment is immoral and it should be considered illegal, even when it's done by private citizens who have no connection to law enforcement. Ms. Goode seems to think that preventing mutually consensual sexual contact between adults and minors is so important that virutally any type of law or vigilante activity is justified. She praises the work of a group who has done nothing but hurt innocent people simply because of who they are attracted to. Ms. Goode is NOT a brave woman in my opinion, and her opposition to the pro-choice position is inevitably going to cause her to applaud our worst enemies. The fact that she believes we are capable of being decent people is a step up from the usual hatred and condemnation we face, but she really needs to be educated about the reality of groups like PJ and how they are most certainly NOT good people, but individuals with an extreme chip on their shoulders who target an unpopular group of people.

I hope Minstrel will now eat his words after defending her and insisting that she was a friend of ours after he reads these excerpts. I hope he reads these excerpts closely (since he seems to have no intention of actually reading the book) and sees how she panders to our worst enemies. The fact that she may honestly believe that she is truly protecting children by supporting these policies or groups is NOT a good excuse to forgive her for this, IMO. This proves my point that just because a certain journalist may be a nice person and is willing to treat us like human beings doesn't mean that they are immune to all of the hysteria and can still be fully supportive of all the hate legislation that we routinely face.

And I think you for presenting these excerpts, Mes, because I know you were one of the people who really wanted to believe good things about Ms. Goode. Personally, after reading your review, despite the fact that she believes that law-abiding MAA's should be left alone and not hated I am still glad that I didn't participate in her study. I don't consider her an ally, but if you do, then I respect your opinion.
