I think most of us who visit here are more in touch with our inner child than other adults. I have had many occasions in my life when a child has responded to me with an open-ness which they would not show to other adults. Even my wife has commented on it, with some amusement. I'm sure it's nothing to do with wit or charm or looks (which would not apply to me, since I am modest), but to the child responding to the adult's inner child. Just yesterday, I was waiting at the bus-stop and the only others waiting there were a mother and her little girl (about 5 yo, in a fur-trimmed jacket and pink leggings). The LG was soon chatting to me about all sorts of things, and gently hitting me on the head with her balloon (she had just been to McDonalds). Her mother seemed quite happy to allow the playing to go on until the bus arrived. At no time was there any negativity from her mother. I returned home exhilirated.
