There's no need to create an alternative word. You'll find plenty in use here; ChildLover, Minor Attracted Adult, Pedosexual plus a host of variants.

Oh, and remember "CUTE?" I wonder how they're progressing with the implementation of cute? When I stand up in a crowd and yell, "I'm cute, and I'm proud!" I seem to get a lot of approval. But when the time comes to discuss civil liberties for those who are sexually/romantically oriented towards children, they act like cute doesn't mean just that.

Well, let's try a variant that's less obscure, say ChildLover? How is that used? Child Lover = Child luster in real life. Pedophiles are terming themselves *Child Lovers*. In truth they are really pedophiles "undercover". Gee, when I Google it I find the same pros and cons I do with Pedophile. I find the same taint to any term which might actually be understood as referring to my orientation.

Maybe they don't misunderstand the word, maybe they misunderstand the orientation. If that's the case, then any word which means what we want it to mean, will mean to the antis what they want it to mean.

What don't I find when I abandon the term Pedophile? Any reference to or defense of it as a sexual orientation whether in a dictionary or by any movement within the APA. I also don't easily link to a culture or history; Dante Alighieri, Poe, Dodgeson, Barrie, Baden-Powell, Modigliani &tc.

So I can run from term to term which will be smeared by the antis and be inaccessible to the nons, or I can stop running from a perfectly good word.

Or am I being cute?
