nature/nurture crowd

i don't quite understand. ..you yourself are taking a strong position in the 'nature/nurture debate' when you say I find it impossible that one's life is not the cause of their sexuality.

there really is no 'nature/nurture debate', nor is there much scope outside of genesis myths for explanations that don't include either or both.

most people who know anything about the subject will nowadays assert, or at least acknowledge, that biological development is always a the product of a particular set of genes ('Nature') in the context of a particular set of environmental influences ('Nurture').

really, if you don't know what you're talking about, there's not a lot of point in talking about it! :D

beyond that, you make very good points, as to how the development of pedophilia, or the development of anything else for that matter, affects its ethical nature. are natural occurence and personal accountability mutually exclusive & so on. ...these are very important questions.

personally, i am certain there is an early developmental involvement in my sexuality, but i have taken a very involved and proactive path in defining how i express myself sexually, so altho i would say i had no choice in my sexual orientation, i would not say i have no choice in how i live.
