"MAPIT" -- Minor Attracted Psychosexual Identity Theory.

I am writing a book. The finished product will take a few years, but should present my ideas clearly; I have a collaborator who is an experienced and published author.

The book will begin with a proposed model of cognitive functioning that I have been working on for an extended period of time. My preliminary results have been encouraging; the theory predicts that neocortical tissue is comprised of approximately a million "neocortical columns", each consisting of around one hundred thousand neurons, and identical to each other initially.

You could imagine this as being like a polka-dotted balloon. Each polka-dot would represent a column, and the air inside the balloon would represent glial cells supporting interconnections between the columns (as well as the non-polka-dot area of the balloon).

I have identified a series of genes which I believe encode the "developmental plan" for each column. My theory predicts that each column is a complete duplication of the hemispheric cerebellum, and that during development it is pared down to the relatively smaller size (compared to the cerebellum) we see in human cortical tissue. The differentiated function of various cortical areas occurs because of their relative spatial proximity to various sensory input in the theory.

I also predict what the content of "mental objects" is. The explanation is complex, but says that the "mental object" token is indexed to a portion of the visual field, and that the data can encode procedural sequences (i.e. movements of muscles), phonetic sequences (semantical content), and visual abstractions. In the theory, each column is controlled by connection to the olfactory bulb (the sense of smell is the organizing principle of the brain). Rules of logic, syntactical rules of language, temporal reasoning, etc. all derive from relationships governing processing of visual input. The underlying "language of thought" are not per se visual processing rules; that is laid on top of it as well. It is the "rules of chemotaxis" which govern decision-making in response to the sense of smell and provide the organization for all other functions of the brain.

My theory falls in the category of "token identity theories of the mind", is a physicalist theory, and is also a flavor of anomolous monism; where past token theories do not attempt to explain the anomoly, my theories holds that the anomoly results from the interaction of tokens, held in cortical structures, with other tokens.

Therefore one could never find a simple causal interaction of X physical event causes ---> Y response, without knowledge of the state of all other tokens in the "conscious field", or neocortex.

The book will then introduce MAPIT and propose an evolutionary basis for "pedophilia". In subsequent chapters, it will explore the implications of the proposed ontology to theism (arguing for profound atheism); ethics (arguing for rational egoism); and just systems of government (arguing for minarchy, with solely the Court and foreign defense as functions of government and no executive).
