We're Illegal

One thing severely holding us back is the fact that our orientation is simply illegal. No ifs ands or buts about it. We're hunted down, demonized, dragged through court and the mud, and labeled sexual predators for the rest of our lives over the littlest infractions. To even voice your support of child love is enough to have your home and life ripped apart in the search for anything that can be used to charge you. Homosexuals, as far as I know, haven't had this broad and excessive of an enemy with the law behind them. They certainly had a hellish time of it, but their existance wasn't all together illegal. I could be wrong on this though.

But that's the biggest thing that holds us back. If we speak up, we're criminalized. If someone tries to support us, their considered a criminal. Never mind all the other crap where society exiles you and destroys you.

You're right that privately, there's a lot of people out there that are open to the idea of child love, or at the very least wouldn't strangle a friend who admits it. But ask them to say that they support you is an entirely different thing, and much rarer. No one wants to be labeled a pedophile supporter. If you're outed, you'd be lucky to have any of them stay by your side. Reminds me a bit of Peter in the Bible when Jesus was arrested and he was asked if he had hung out with him. Peter blatantly denied he'd even known Jesus, because his fear for himself out weighed his loyalty to his friend. We're in that same sad situation.
