I can see how it can be useful if some people are continuously bumping old posts, or if the site is very active. But, since these things are not an issue at the moment, the limit has been changed to 500 days. No guarantee it stays at that though. Email all moderators works too now if there are any further issues. Or just respond further to this post I guess.
