I downloaded this distro because of the cute wallpapers with anime girls and special "features" like a CatGirl downloader, Komikku a manga reader linking to multiple manga sources, some of the links are pirate sites and others contain porn and Nyarch Assistant, a fork of the open-source AI chatbot Newelle, customized with anime-themed features.

My findings, despite being based on Arch Linux are that this distro is very easy to use by beginners, the wallpers are cool, the CatGirl downloader not for my taste, the manga reader is an interface linking to online sites, no lolicon or anything illegal included that one can see at first sight but I did not look deep, and the AI chatbot Newelle has a cute interface but it is limited to Arch Linux questions, nothing special, what I liked is that it comes pre-configured to use multiple other AI engines you only need an API key and they have easy instructions on how to get one.

What is an API key? In basic terms, it is an authorisation string you enter in Newelle to be able to query online AI engines like Gemini, Grok, etc, some of them are free others are not, are they private? Not really, to get the API you need an account and the queries you make will be linked to your API provider account, are they uncensored queries? Highly unlikely but people will always try. Nyark Assistant/Newelle also allows you to install offline LLM engines for AI queries, these are private, albeit without image creation, LLM only does text queries.

Important! Nyark Linux does not provide any privacy tool, it does not come with a VPN or Tor for online AI queries, this is not a distro for privacy.

Do I recommend to girl lovers? Nope, this looks like a one man project, girl lovers are better off with big known distros like Linux Mint, Arch Linux or Fedora that have a community behind that will get security updates for their OS as they happen. But if you want to get a feel of Newelle without installing it you can run Nyark Linux live and try it out.
